ELECTROLYSIS For individuals with blonde or red hair, this is the only option currently available for permanent hair removal. Lasers work by acting upon pigment in hair follicles. People with blonde and red hair do not have sufficient pigment to make laser hair reduction effective. There is current no light based technology available to treat these hair colours. Electrolysis works by using an electric current to permanently impair hair follicles. Each hair must be individually treated. This means that treatment requires multiple visits.
